- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I saw Dr. Smith 17 years ago and after prescribing me tons of pain meds, he convinced me to have surgery - a PAO to correct congenital hip dysplasia. I was only 25 and I think the only reason he wanted to do it was to get in the record books for the youngest patient he'd worked on, since that's all he ever talked about. After surgery he never prescribed physical therapy and I, being so young, had no idea that PT was imperative for successful post op. When I fell down the stairs and broke my pelvis in 3 places, he lost interest in his "star patient" and after I became addicted to Lortab he dropped me like a hot cake. It took me ten tears to recover my sobriety but I am still in constant pain and I have come to fear doctors in a huge way because if him. I hope he is different now, but I could never recommend him. He thinks he is God's gift to surgery, and if you end up having a problem, then he'll never forgive you.March 31, 2017by Mary Overson
